Africa’s largest e-mobility convening just turned up the voltage.
Nairobi, Kenya and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — May 2025 The Africa E-Mobility Alliance (AfEMA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the global infrastructure advisory firm CPCS to be a strategic partner in the planning and execution of the Africa E-Mobility Week 2025 (AEW2025) — the continent’s flagship platform for clean, inclusive, and investment-ready mobility.
In 2025, AfEMA and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) have partnered to co-
host the Africa E-Mobility Forum, which will serve as the high-level policy anchor of AEW2025.
The event will take place from 16–18 September 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and is expected
to convene over 500 stakeholders from the government, private sector, finance, and
development spheres.
As part of the agreement, CPCS will bring its deep technical expertise and Pan-African reach to
shape forward-looking, high-impact conversations on regulation, financing, infrastructure, and
innovation within the forum and the broader AEW programme.
“CPCS brings both technical depth and a rich network of African decision-makers to this partnership,” said Lisa Amenya, Chief Convenor of AEW2025. “Their presence as an advisory partner helps us elevate the conversation and catalyse practical outcomes for the continent’s clean transport future.”
“Africa’s e-mobility transition requires more than pilots — it needs scale, structure, and shared ambition,” added Ethan Schwartz, Senior Consultant at CPCS. “We’re honoured to work alongside AfEMA and UNEP to spotlight the ideas and investments shaping that future.”
“This is precisely the kind of collaboration we need,” said Annika Berlin, Programme Management Officer at UNEP. “By combining regional insights, technical expertise, and multilateral convening power, we’re creating a platform that is both ambitious and grounded in Africa’s real opportunities.”
